Especially for the sophisticated texture recognition an algorithm was generated which is unmatched to date concerning quality and speed. 

The manifold applications comprise 

• recognition of heartwood / sapwood as well as recognition of rift/halfrift — important for windows industry

• recognition of cracks on the face for the parquet industry

• measurement of the distance between the annual rings for strength grading

• recognition of heartwood / sapwood side of fresh timber or already planed boards because no measurable cup is existing
